"An Openly Anti-American Movement Using Israel as a Scapegoat"

The stupidity of youth is just about the greatest weapon these psychopaths have.

Robby Sauve: Nina Jankowicz, The Singing Censor, Back In Action

One of the more alarming things about this sort of thing is that people like this don't quietly go and live out their lives in Tibetan monasteries or something. Imagine being as loony and partisan and, well, downright anti-American as her...being exposed as a repugnant, partisan hack, all while piously pretending to be some kind of general expert on truth... All that's bad enough... But then to just jump right back in the saddle and try the whole loathsome scam again...
This is paradigm of what is meant by having no shame...

The War for Sydney Sweeney's Breasts; or: Everything's Political Now

Alright, I don't want to hear any jokes about, say, those not being the hills to die on...
Besides...if you think that, you might want to look again...
But anyway.
If you're thinking anything like that, you should just GROW UP.

Biden: My Uncle Was Eaten by Cannibals

Look, I'm gonna give him this one.
This is too good a tall tale to let the opportunity to tell it slip away.
I say the President was obligated to stretch the truth on this one.
I'd be kinda mad if he hadn't.

Healthy Skeptic:...Is Getting Fed Up With Vax Safety BS

His general conclusion seems still to be: the vax doesn't help as much as you might think or hope, but it's damn unlikely to harm you.
I got the first jab, when the batflu was more dangerous and we knew less about it. But I've had the COVID at least once now, and maybe/probably twice. And I'm sure I've been exposed a lot. I'm not anti-vax, I just decided not to jump on the boosterama express.
And, in case my psychological quirks/weaknesses are not sufficiently clear: to some extent out of contrariness. The more dogmatic/hysterical the pro-vaxers got, the less likely it was going to be that I took another one. Dumb...I guess...but, as a heuristic, I'm not really sure that Don't give in to the hysteriacs is really as bad as the orthodoxy would have it. (Though, of course: whenever you find yourself at odds with the orthodoxy, you're probably wrong....)
I still think--non-expert that I am--that the pro-vax dogma was dumb. Shoving it onto healthy young people in particular. And without what would seem to me to be sufficient safety testing. (Again: non-expert here.) In fact, I still think we should have been in favor of vax refuseniks: they were humanity's safety net in case it had turned out to be a disaster.
But the older you get, the more rational it would seem to get the vax.
But, since I can't even seem to manage to get a flu shot more than about one year out of five, I'm thinking that I'll probably be slack about this one, too.

"Donald Trump's Trial Will Only Help Him"

I don't know about "only"...but, on balance, it could well help him.
It's probably helping him with me.
I mean:
Here's Trump, unfit for the office.
There's the left--hysterical, delusional, lying about virtually everything he says and does...and now, misusing the justice system--over and over and over--in an attempt to prevent Americans from voting for him.
Right out in the open! Right in front of God and everybody! Shamelessly. Proudly. Some of these jackasses (e.g. the loathsome Letitia James) ran on doing this.
So far as I can tell, their attitude is roughly: it doesn't matter how insane we are--he's unfit! You must ignore our shenanigans and focus on that unfitness.
And, yeah, I think these are both true:
(a) The charges against Trump are a joke--a travesty of justice.
(b) Trump's unfit to be President.
But here's a tip for the blue team: eventually, it becomes impossible or at least impractical to try to slice such things too finely. Eventually, your psychotic lawfare starts counting for him. And I mean: in favor of him for President.
And I mean: independently of the fact that, IMO, we should not be voting either for Trump or for Biden, but for/against the likely total state of a Trump or Biden administration. So, for example, in the Fall, I'll likely be voting not merely in accordance with the fact that Trump is less bad than Biden (in fact, I'm not sure he is), but in accordance with the fact that a Trump Department of Education will likely include more people like Betsy DeVos and fewer people like Catherine Lhamon...
Trump and Biden are both unfit. (Which is not to say equally so.) But which faction do I want to have more influence on the federal apparatus? (I mean: the blues will apparently always run it. So really: do I want it to be deep blue (lol no)...or a little purplish?)
But aside from that: I'm now probably voting against the faction that most egregiously weaponizes the justice system against its opponents...not even to mention anything else.

Climate Discombobulating: Gay Couples Hardest Hit

facepalm

Aside from the obvious stupidity of that--and not to put too fine a point on it--the reason for such third-rate Lysenkoism is the presupposition that something is worse if it affects gays more than it affects straights. And gay-married gays at that! I mean, if the climate were merely deconstructifying, that would be bad and all...but destructing inequitably? And, like, not on account of hitting evilstraightwhitemales more...but, y'know, the other thing... Unacceptable!
So it's a progressive way of arguing climate change is even worse than you thought!...it's inequitying gays...
I mean, if the alleged disintigration of the climate were inequitying evilstraightwhitedudes, that would actually be a plus--climate change as equitification...
   BUT IT'S NOT, BIGOT
   IT'S INEQUITYING THE GAYS

Council on Foreign Relations Debate: Should We Stop Funding the War in Ukraine?

I was doing something else when listening to this, and shouldn't have been. It required more attention than I could give it. But I came away still not knowing what to think. So the general trajectory of my thinking remains the same: I don't know, but, forced to say something, I'm weakly convinced by Mearsheimer. I'm sort of skeptical of Hitler/WWII analogies. Putin didn't exactly waltz into Ukraine this time. But the history--including the U.S.'s role in pre-invasion Ukraine--is basically opaque (or translucent at best) to me. I just don't know. People who specialize in roughly this topic can't seem to agree. I don't even rise to the level of dilettante here. There's no reason to take anything I say or think about it seriously.

The women on the pro-funding side did make a few really bad arguments IMO. Like the innovation argument. Seems to me that "Ukraine is so innovative! (eg drones and such)" is a pretty weak reason to think they can win--especially if that means: push the Rooskies out. If I'm playing a strategy game I need to win, and I can choose (a) the side with massive numerical and financial advantage or (b) the side that's very innovative...I pick (a).

I continue to think that we raised to cost of this invasion so high that Putin would have to be nuts to try it again--or, God forbid, to invade a NATO country--as the pro-funding side of this debate repeatedly warns about. We could drive the Rooskies out if we wanted to--but it just doesn't seem to be worth it. Defending, say, Latvia or any other NATO member would seem to be a completely different matter.

It's miserably awful that we couldn't (or didn't) coax Putin over toward our side. The last thing we need is what seems to be happening--the emergence of a Russia/China alliance. (Well, really: a Putin/CCP alliance; this isn't so much the fault of the Russians or the Chinese, but of their leaders/governments.)

Bleh.

Confusion.

Biden Admin's Title IX Rewrite: Why You Must Not Vote For Democrats

They've simply rewritten Title IX to say what they wish it had said.
The left does not consider itself to be constrained by law. Law is to be freely interpreted to say what they want it to say, even when that goes against the plain meaning of the statute.
Title IX could hardly be clearer:
No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.
But the Biden administration (no doubt led by lunatics like Catherine Lehmon) have simply ignored what it says, and decreed that it also means "gender identity"--a pseudoscientific pseudoconcept.
And, on top of everything else, they've turned it into yet another tool for undermining free speech. (Though those provisions will, I believe and hope, be grounds for SCOTUS to overturn this abomination.)  I don't use "preferred pronouns," and this won't change that. If my university or anyone affiliated with it wants to try to make me, I welcome it. We'll see what the goddamned courts have to say about it--it's compelled speech. I won't do it and the Supremes won't uphold it.
A vote for the contemporary Democrat party is a vote for this type of totalitarian madness.

Bill Barr Plans to Vote for the Republican Ticket in November (So I Do Too)

Some time ago, I decided that I would very probably vote however Barr decided to vote. Barr and I agree that the progressivism that has conquered the Democrats is a grave threat to the nation. We agree that the effects of Trump's presidency were generally quite positive. But Barr has significant, direct experience with Trump, his personal defects, and his behavior after he lost the election of 2020. I have a very high opinion of Barr, and he seems to be in an excellent position to weigh the prospect of another Trump presidency against that of a Democratic one--probably Biden...or, more likely, partially Biden, partially Harris.
And it certainly didn't seem like a foregone conclusion. When asked, last year, what he would do if Trump was the nominee again, he said "I'll jump off that bridge when I come to it." Which seemed to me to indicate the right attitude.
At any rate, he's said that he'll vote for "the Republican ticket." So that means I very probably will as well.
Of course things could happen between now and November to change my mind. But I think it's obvious that a Democrat administration must be avoided, even if at a very high cost. And it's not Biden. Biden, godawful though he is, is one of the less-bad Democrats we might reasonably end up with. The problem is, as Barr correctly notes, the progressive agenda--in short, political correctness / Woketarianism. It's like a plague of madness that has gripped the blue end of the political spectrum.
The only question is: is Trump less-bad, or worse?
And I don't know of anyone better to make such a judgment than Barr.
   So there it is.

Defund NPR

Turley makes the case.
The NPR CEO has responded to Uri Berliner's expose by calling it...and I'm not even making this up...: "profoundly disrespectful, hurtful, and demeaning." That's like a parody of leftist puling. I mean, I guess it might be "hurtful"--after all, as they say, the truth hurts. "disrespectful" and "demeaning" are just goddamn stupid.
I fell out of the habit of listening to NPR for a couple of years during which I didn't have to drive to campus, but could walk. I was an enthusiastic listener for decades, especially during my sometimes long commutes. When I tuned back in ca. 2015 (? '16?) I was appalled. Or maybe 'repulsed' is better. Fairly soon after I started tuning back in, I was listening to one of their talk shows and heard one of their well-known talking heads (can't remember his name now) ab. so. lutely. lose. his. shit. at one of his guests who was questioning liberal gun-control orthodoxy. I mean dude completely lost it. Needless to say, if that had been an isolated incident, NBD. But the NPR I returned to was not like the NPR I had left. New NPR didn't just lean liberal...it was filled with politically correct bullshit about race (there was a whole show about "code switching" (honestly, how does the left come up with so many irritating turns of phrase?), for example), "gender," the bad Orange Man (REEEEEEEEEEEEE) and all the other leftist obsessions. Even a solidly Democrat friend of mine said to me, years ago, that NPR had become awful, and that he couldn't even listen to it anymore...
   Anyway.
There's no way we should pay for that shit.
Lefties used to refuse to pay the tax on their phone bills because it allegedly was used to pay off debt from the Vietnam war. (That's not exactly true, as I understand it.) Anyway, maybe non-leftists should withhold the nickel or whatever of their taxes that is slated for NPR propaganda operations...

Turley: The Trump Trial in Manhattan is an Indictment of the NY Legal System

It's almost unbelievable how little vocal Dems on the intertubes understand about this case...which doesn't keep them from passionately denouncing the bad Orange Man, and declaring him obviously guilty...
Trump, for all his many faults, is far less dangerous than the contemporary blue team.
Beria is no longer with us--but "show me the man and I'll show you the crime" could well be one of their many mottos.
Disagree with the blue team, and you risk "cancellation"--i.e. psychotic public campaigns of lies and character assassination--more-or-less at best. If that doesn't work: lawfare. As Turley points out:

After an absurd $450 million decision courtesy of Attorney General Letitia James, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg will bring his equally controversial criminal prosecution over hush money paid to a former porn star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election.
Lawyers have been scouring the civil and criminal codes for any basis to sue or prosecute Trump before the upcoming 2024 election. This week will highlight the damage done to New York’s legal system because of this unhinged crusade. They’ve charged him with everything short of ripping a label off a mattress.
Just a few weeks ago, another judge imposed a roughly half billion dollar penalty in a case without a single victim who lost a single cent on loans with Trump. (Indeed, bank officials testified they wanted more business with the Trump organization).
Now Bragg is bringing a case that has taken years to develop and millions of dollars in litigation cost for all parties. That is all over a crime from before the 2016 election that is a misdemeanor under state law that had already expired under the statute of limitations.

Mad Mandy Marcotte: Men punching random women in NYC: A desperate last gasp of the male rage fueling MAGA

LLOoooOOLolLOoOOoOolLoL

Yeah, yeah...one might argue that making fun of Mandy is not exactly sporting...but she's really no loonier than the average pop lefty squawker...sez me...
Some excerpts:

Whatever the excuse the angry man concocts, the impetus is always the same: The eyes of a woman are directed at someone or something that is not him, and he is indignant over it. So he will make sure she has no choice but to look at him, either by getting in her face or — in these alarming New York cases — punching her. If he cannot capture her adoring gaze, well, he will make her stare at him in fear.

These stories resonate, as well, because the nation is having a moment of increasingly unhinged male fury at women for daring to have lives that are centered around something other than catering to a man's every whim. Unleashed by Donald Trump and the MAGA movement, there's an upswell of loud male entitlement shouting at us from every corner.

And:
The rise of MAGA is fueled by misogyny. But it's less a backlash than a tantrum, a rage explosion by men who want to restore their dominance but fear that, this time, women won't buckle to their bullying.
Look, here's the deal, Mands:
The punchers are not MAGA. They're not conservative at all. They're not mainly white, to be perfectly honest about it. (Remember the video of the woman walking around NYC getting catcalled...but it had to be edited and then disappeared because the vast majority of the perpetrators weren't the right color? i.e. weren't evilwhitemen?) Too bad for your worldview, these assailants--the real ones--aren't going to turn out to be of the right demographic to support your nuttery.
And, of course, some of the stories will likely turn out to be made up for social media clout (as it were)...
If this were a conservative phenomenon, it would be showing up in the middle of the country. But it isn't. And it isn't.
(Incidentally, this sounds an awful lot like "the knockout game"....which people like you, Mands, deny is real. But when it happens--though of course it isn't real--it's normally not evilwhitemales who are doing the punching...)
This is happening because your faction, the progressive left, has pursued policies that increase violent crime by refusing to take its perpetrators off the streets...not to mention the fact that it intentionally promotes violence against whites by pumping up the hatred and resentment against them... Asians seems to end up on the receiving end as well--after all, they are "white adjacent"...
Marcotte's a loon. But she's really just a mouthpiece for the leftist zeitgeist, looking for a way to blame the right for the consequences of the left's abject insanity.

F-15E--Now With More EPAWSS!

Holman W. Jenkins, Jr.: A(nother) Disinformation October Surprise is Coming

Well, I disagree.
Not about the historical claims--about those, Jenkins is exactly right.
I just don't believe they'll try it again.
But if they're losing...all bets are off.
Jenkins is right, IMO, that we face two dark paths: Trump and the elite-left establishment. And, like Jenkins, I (currently, at least) think that the latter is more dangerous.
The first comment below the story is telling--many Democrats continue to deny the plain facts we have uncovered about Russia- and Laptop-gates. Go on Twitter and you'll soon enough find the same thing. Last night on Twitter I learned that, not only did Mueller not acquit Trump...he didn't even investigate the "collusion" charges! Didn't even! Investigate! Can you believe it? The things one can learn by reading leftists speaking their minds...
But, somehow, though the collusion charges were never investigated...they were actually proven true! Mirabile dictu
And Clinton and the Dems had nothing to do with fabricating evidence in Russiagate! All they did was commission opposition research...and then, innocently, credulously, pass it along...
Like babes in the woods, those Dems.
One almost feels sorry for them...wonders how they've survived this long...
But...uh...don't forget...they were actually right all along and Trump is still a Russian "asset" "colluding" with Putin...and the more this is disproven...er...I mean...not disproven...the truer it becomes!
Also, Biden has been proven innocent of money-laundering shenanigans!
I didn't know half this stuff!
You could teach a kind of applied epistemology course just on Russiagate. Or, if you insist on balance, you could throw in Iraqi WMDs to boot.
But in politics, bizarre variations on skepticism abound.
   Here are things we know:
Trump did not "collude" with the Rooskies.
Russiagate was a Democrat dirty trick.
   Here's something we don't quite know...but it's a pretty safe bet:
Biden and his family were running an influence-peddling operation.
But the left-wing echo chamber has it that the disproven things are proven...but for the nearly-proven thing, there is no evidence at all....
   Abject madness.
Many conservatives worked hard to pretend that the WMD hypothesis was still alive, long past the point at which it was a dead issue. Not yet conclusively disproven! could have been their battle-cry. Every now and then there would be a rumor that some Americans had dug up a long-buried chlorine gas artillery shell, and some righties would come out of the woodwork to claim that this was proof of the predicate for the war. Absurd, of course. We didn't invade Iraq in order to find a couple-hundred pounds of chemical ordnance...
   Anyway.
The truly daft faction of progressives is now so religiously devoted to Trump fantasies that they will never give them up. They're religious. It's like asking Christians to give up the virgin birth. They are no longer capable of evaluating their faith objectively.
   Oh, fuck it.
What a tragic waste of the human spirit.
   I'm going to the gym.

More on Gamergate 2

It's really just the culture war / political correctness / Woketarianism as it manifests itself in video games. Very Serious People ignored Gamergate--or sided with the bad guys. But it foreshadowed the cultural catastrophe we're in now. I doubt that Gamergate 2 means things are going to get worse--now this sort of thing is everywhere, and almost routine. But it's too bad people weren't smarter about Gamergate 1. Basically, it was about the SJWs/PCs/Woketarians taking over video games journalism. When gamers rightly complained about the totalitarian takeover of their hobby, they were accused of racism, harassment, etc.--now this, too, is routine. Any opposition to political correctness is characterized as bigotry and "violence."
There's a kind of moral/aesthetic worldview at the core of the left that "valorizes" (one of the paleo-PC's favorite words) grotesquerie and destruction. Of course there's a lot of violence and destruction in video games--but there's generally also heroism and some kind of laudable ideals buried in there somewhere.
   Or something like that.

"How Taxpayers Will Heavily Subsidize Democrat Boots on the Ground This Election"

The private funding of Democrat election-influencing projects is itself a huge problem. Now your tax dollars are apparently going to be put to that use.
Though, as the article notes, that's already been happening. I remember watching the stream of vans from campus to the polls in 2008. Even at the time, though a benighted Democrat, I was concerned. Encouraging college students to vote and funneling them to the polls is basically a Democrat GOTV project. Universities basically feed their students leftist propaganda, and then drive them to the polls. And a large percentage of universities are publicly-funded, needless to say.
I've seldom been a fan of anything but the most modest GOTV efforts. Reminding people to vote is one thing. Basically badgering people, registering people who neither know nor care enough to do so on their own, etc....this has almost always seemed to me to be a bad idea. I did engage in some of this for the Dems back in the day--but I was wrong to do so. For most of my life I've thought that anyone who doesn't care enough to vote probably doesn't know enough to vote.

NOW: Opposing Men Taking Over Women's Sports is White Supremacy

LOOOOOL

More Mad Libs from the left...

Seriously, how could you make this stuff up? The National Organization for Women...coming out in support of men...pretending to be women...invading and wrecking women's sports....and....as if that weren't enough!....just grabbing a completely unrelated ad hominem accusation out of the leftist bin to launch at people who disagree: white supremacy!!!

LOOOOOOOOOOOOL

Look, all the other crazy-ass bullshit about this to the side....it has not a goddamn thing to do with race or "white supremacy"... I realize that's one of the hottest leftist spittle-flecked insults of the moment...but...whatever happened to "transphobia?" I mean, that would at least be relevant... "White supremacy" (though...that's never what they're really talking about, of course) is no more relevant than....well, hell, why not just say "settler colonialism?" That would be no less irrelevant. And it's really hottt right now, what with Gaza and everything. Or genocide--that's another hot one.

In fact 'genocide' is kind of a leftist blast from the past. Back in the paleo-PC era, everything was a "kind of rape" or a "form of genocide." Nothing was just bad or wrong...well...being "offensive" was, of course. Everything was "offensive." "Offensive" was the pale-PC version of the neo-PC "problematic"--the all-purpose complaint. But anyway. If you really wanted to bitch about something, you had to find some convoluted, baroque, impressionistic (and never even vaguely plausible) way of analogizing it to rape or genocide.

Though...there doesn't seem to even be any attempt explain the "white supremacy" accusation.

C'mon, NOW--you're not even trying here.

This is the difference between second-rate bullshit and the third-rate variety.

NOW, I am disappoint...

The Left is a Slippery Slope: Will Canada Fund Surgery for a Dude Who Wants a "Vagina," but Also Wants to Keep His Penis?

Slippery slope arguments are not always fallacious...and depending on what you're talking about, even arguments that tend to be fallacious in other contexts can be sound.
Because the left always moves leftward, slippery slope arguments against it turn out to have true conclusions a surprising amount of the time...
However, they're currently so crazy that even our direst predictions can't quite seem to keep up with them...
It is very important for (K.S.) to have a vagina for her personal interpretation of her gender expression but she also wishes to maintain her penis,” the doctor wrote in a letter to OHIP supporting the request for prior funding approval. “(K.S.) is transfeminine but not completely on the ‘feminine” end of the spectrum (and) for this reason it’s important for her to have a vagina while maintaining a penis.
K.S., as you've probably puzzled out, is a dude.
   There's also this:
“Ultimately OHIP’s interpretation (of a vaginoplasty) is exclusionary and discriminates against nonbinary people on the basis of their gender identity,” Egale said. If there is any ambiguity in what should be publicly covered, it should be resolved in favour of the claimant, they said.
Yeah, so, aside from the fact that this is insane and stupid as shit...there are Canadians out there with cancer... This psychopathic bullshit is already eating up money that could and should be used to address actual medical problems...but here we are... For that matter, there are any number of better uses for this money. Almost any use of the resources would be better than elective sexual mutilation... The idea is that the citizens of Canada should pay for this dude to mangle his genitals....though at least he doesn't want to mangle his d*ck for the purpose of creating a fauxgina... I guess that's something. Less destructive to do it that way, I suppose, than to wreck his penis for the purpose. Though...probably humanity would be better off if this guy doesn't reproduce...
Anyway, why stop with one? Why not a penis and two "vaginas"? Or three?
Slippery slope reasoning is basically the only chance we have to trying to keep up with the madness of the left...

RFK Jr.: Biden a Worse Threat to Democracy Than Trump

It's hardly an outlandish or uncommon view.
Perhaps the most notable thing there, though, is that the CNN anchor just can't seem to believe that anyone could believe this. She's so deep in the groupthink that she seems to have lost the ability to understand that one person might pose a threat to x, while another person poses a bigger threat to x.
Her view seems to be: HOW CAN YOU SAY BIDEN IS A BIGGER THREAT TO DEMOCRACY THAN TRUMP WHEN TRUMP POSES A THREAT TO DEMOCRACY?????
For the hundredth time: Trump doesn't belong anywhere near the Oval Office. But basically any plausible Democrat, including Biden, would be worse.
   Am I certain of that?
   Of course not.
And: that's absolutely the wrong question.

Christine Blasey Ford: A Tale of 21st-Century American Political Media

Well, here's one of the important ways things are now: a progressive woman making an almost-certainly-false accusation against a politically important conservative man is believed uncritically by the media and the left generally, is heroified by them, and they make her rich. In this case, the woman failed to torpedo the man's career...but that bit of the story will often go the other way.
What percentage of progressives/Democrats even know the evidence that she lied? The two front doors, the flying lie, the fact that Keyser knew none of the things Ford said she would know?
And possibly: no CBF, not E. Jean Carroll...

Easter and "Transgender Day of Visibility"

"Transgender day of visibility" is a dumb idea associated with irrationalist, pseudoscientific, cultish gender ideology. It is, pretty much without doubt, the dumbest idea adopted by any major political faction in my lifetime. It makes Iraqi WMDs look positively reasonable.
The right is all bent out of shape because it fell on Easter this year.
They're saying that it's something like an intentional slight by Biden, who--unsurprisingly--made a statement endorsing/supporting TDV.
Look: we're a secular republic. We don't clear the calendar for religious holidays. That's going to mean that conflicts like this happen. Anyway, this is basically a conflict between two religious holidays. Easter is explicitly religious, as it is the pivotal holiday of an explicitly religious view. "Transgender day of visibility" is a holiday (or something like a holiday) of a covert religion--a religion that masquerades as a liberal view based on science. Anyway: the state can recognize both, but can't endorse either. This is for the two religions to fight out.
Perhaps more importantly: Biden is just acknowledging TDV as, I'm sure, he acknowledged Easter. This is not some plot to eclipse Easter.
And: if you're going to have an annual holiday fixed to a date around this time of year, then it's going to occasionally fall on the same day as Easter, a moveable feast.
   How often?
Well, I read somewhere (but am too lazy to go back and get the link) that Easter fell on 3/31 ten times in the 20th century (it won't fall on that date the same number of times every century, though). Though I'm not going to do it, I'm sure that Easter also ends up falling on like fifty other dumb days recognized by Congress--national doughnut day, national John Deere day, national clean our your closet day, etc.
   Anyway.
At this point, I'm basically ok with any rhetorical strategy that dings the Dems. But it's still dumb.

The Ancient Enemy Arises: State to the Final Four

Good thing I don't believe in basketball after Carolina is out, or I'd have been fretting about the nightmare scenario of State vs. d00k in the round of eight...
LOL gotta admit, tho, DJ Burns is an absolute unit.

Gamergate 2.0 Watch: A Thick-Headed, Entirely One-Sided Report from Wired

This is, like so much from the MSM, basically propaganda for the left side of this dispute.
So, basically: a company specializes in politicizing/wokifying video games. Non-cultists don't like that, and organize against it to inform people and encourage them to stop buying the games they consult on. A few people (or, at least, they only had a few examples) send them cranky/nasty/asinine emails. They respond by whining about "harassment"...
Needless to say, I'm generally against harassment. But if they're being harassed, basically everyone on the internet is being harassed. Furthermore, their side in the debate specializes in the organized harassment we've come to know as cancellation/cancel culture. In fact, they invented it...
Progressives can dish it out but can't take it. They are conducting a culture war, but when centrists and conservatives and left-leaning liberals and libertarians strike back against them, they scream bloody murder.
Sweet Baby, Inc. is functioning like a DEI department for the video gaming industry. And DEI is shit. People are right to organize against it, push back, and taking their business elsewhere. They're wrong to harass people about it all...but whining about harassment is just what the progressive left does when people push back against them. Deny any of their insane, cultish dogmas and you will be accused of "hate," harassment, even "violence." They are all delicate snowflakes...though vicious ones...
IMO we should have all paid attention to Gamergate (1.0). If we had, we'd have gotten a jump on the culture war.
