It locks up millions, with an incarceration rate many times that of other NATO countries.    Does this spending make the country safer than its peers? No. Violent crime has reduced markedly in the past few decades. But America’s murder rate is still higher than the average among member countries of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, and about four times the rate in Canada. The number of rapes, adjusted to the size of the population, is four times higher than it is in Denmark. Robberies are more than twice as common as they are in Poland. Gun violence is rampant; deaths and injuries from firearms among children are considered “a major clinical and public health crisis.” And Americans absorb far, far more violence from police officers. As a Guardian investigation demonstrated, the police shot dead 55 people in 24 years in England and Wales. There were more fatal
police shootings in the first 24 days of 2015 in the U.S.

   Did you know that, despite wearing, on average, more clothing, people in Alaska are, on average, colder than other people? Solution? Go naked!

The mind, it reeleth.
   Depolicing--i.e. the cops decreasing their presence in black neighborhoods--has given us the Ferguson effect. And blacks, incidentally, have paid the price for it. Imagine the consequences of getting rid of cops completely. You might be interested to note that she also wants to "end mass incarceration"...i.e. put criminals back on the street.
   Oh and don't forget: these are the same people who want to confiscate your firearms. So...will the cops do that before they are disbanded? Or will they call out the National Guard to do that? Or change their minds about using the Insurrection Act. Or maybe the Pantifa Blackshirts will be tasked with that one in the brave new progressive USA...
   Progressivism doesn't mess around, boy--it always goes for a really stupid solution right off the bat.
And always, always, always pushes further (farther?) left. So today's stupid "solution" will be nothing compared to the even stupider "solution" they'll start agitating for next year.
