Vox Article Shows Why CRT And Related Nonsense Has No Place In K-12

Here it is--why neither leftists nor CRT should be allowed anywhere near K-12 classrooms.
It was a normal day in one of my 11th grade US history courses. During class, a kid, I’ll call him Billy, asked, “Why is it such a big deal that the police killed someone? Why is there so much fuss about this one? He should have just listened to the police.”
While this conversation could have happened this year, it occurred in the spring of 2015, amid the media uproar surrounding Freddie Gray, a young black man who died while in Baltimore police custody. But Billy didn’t understand why this was happening, and now I — a high school teacher — was tasked with explaining this national moment to my young student. So I took a deep breath and launched into a brief historical context about the history of police brutality, Black resistance to it, and how all of this goes back to America’s Reconstruction era.
These conversations take place often in my class. Young people want to understand the world around them, and it’s my job to do my absolute best to help them make sense of things, even if it’s just by providing them with knowledge of past events that created the inequalities they witness on a regular basis. Whether it’s police killing unarmed Black people, anti-Asian violence during the Covid-19 pandemic, or viral videos of people making racist 911 calls, students want to know. I pride myself on helping kids to make connections between these kinds of events and our nation’s history.
First, the obvious: the right is not hysterical about CRT; the left his hysterical about race and racism. Hence: CRT etc. The right's opposition to brainwashing kids with that shit is perfectly rational.
But anyway:
Let's get some other facts out of the way: little Billy didn't ask why it was such a big deal that the police killed someone. Hoover made that shit up. But, hey--I'll play along. Here's the psycho leftist crazy response:
I took a deep breath and launched into a brief historical context about the history of police brutality, Black resistance to it, and how all of this goes back to America’s Reconstruction era.
Here's a sane-person response:
Yo, little Billy...you probably don't realize that Mr. Gray was already arrested, and in police custody, and in the back of a police van and being taken to jail. It's extremely strange that Mr. Gray would emerge from the van with a fatal spine injury. He wasn't killed resisting arrest nor any such thing. So people hypothesize that the police did something wrong and illegal to hurt him. For example, some say that police sometimes give arrestees a "rough ride," which means...etc.  But we just don't know. So people are--understandably--upset.
This doesn't require any CRT bullshit nor any historical context to understand. It certainly doesn't require any (fake) history about police brutality, nor anything about Black [sic] resistance to it, nor anything about any imaginary history leading back to reconstruction. It's a (kinda psycho...maybe you ought to have little Billy checked out...) question that has a really, really, really straightforward answer. In fact, avoiding straightforward answers in order to use unrelated questions as an opportunity to push distorted history is...well...exactly the kinda shit that sane people are worried about.
Or take "anti-Asian violence" "during the Covid-19 pandemic"... Nice prejudicial framing there, Dr. Hoover... Again, there's no need for faux historical explanations, nor CRT bullshit. Here's an answer for Little Billy 2:
Yo, little Billy: first, you can't always trust the media. We don't know whether they're showing us a representative sample of recent incidents, or whether they've decided to push a story about anti-Asian violence. It's a big country. There's a fair bit of violence at any given time. For all we know,. there's just an ordinary amount of violence being blown out of proportion. Remember, LB: don't believe everything people tell you. And that includes the media. We won't know whether there's an unusual amount of anti-Asian violence until crime statistics come out next year.
And a very similar answer goes for the "racist" 911 calls...
Yo, LB: you can't believe everything you're told. The media is mostly lying to you about that shit. Let's start with the case of one George Michael Zimmerman...
The rest of the article is similarly dense and false. "Kids are talking about systems of oppression anyway"... Bullshit. They're only talking about fictitious "systems of oppression"--if at all--because the left is pumping that bullshit out at a furious rate. So her argument is, then: well, we've already filled their heads with nonsense...of course we have to feed them more nonsense! I mean...they "have questions" about the other nonsense we brainwashed them with...
   And then there's this:
The goal is to scare parents, who will then scare teachers away from discussing an accurate representation of past events in the US. But the truth is, we should be having these conversations about racism and the unvarnished truth about our nation’s past with our students.
No... See, it's the parents who are concerned. And they're concerned largely because you're lying to them about what you're teaching. We know this because you are (a) teaching CRT and related nonsense, (b) denying that you're teaching CRT and related nonsense, (c) admitting that you ARE teaching CRT and related nonsense, (d) claiming that you will fight to the death to continue teaching CRT and related nonsense...
We know you're lying--it's as obvious as it could be.
Also: you-all deny that objectivity is possible...and then claim that teaching CRT and related nonsense is the objective (i.e.: "unvarnished") truth. Of course MATH ISN'T OBJECTIVE, BIGOT!!!! But quasi-religious leftist views of history...that shit is "unvarnished truth"...
Then there's some shit about teaching students to "evaluate things from multiple perspectives"....which is a bit like finding out that your school was teaching your kids that they are disembodied brains in vats, and then having them respond: Well, a little skepticism is healthy for kids...
Look, Hoover isn't wrong about absolutely everything. But she's wrong enough to make me skeptical that she's giving us the straight dope about the stuff she's right about...
