Homicide Is On The Rise But We Know How To Stop It
I don't buy most of this.
This was caused by BLM's bullshit policies and protests, which caused depolicing. So I conclude that what's needed is repolicing.
The authors, van Rooij and Fine, are clearly full of shit when they write:
Preventing murder also requires a serious discussion about guns. As one study summarizes it: “More Guns, More Crime.” Pro-gun politicians seem to have known this all along, why else would they have blocked federal funding for research about the relationship between firearms and homicide for 25 years?
First: one study is worthless. Second, no, you lying sacks of shit. First, funding for such research wasn't "blocked" "for 25 years." Funding to the CDC was. And why was that? Because of (a) the CDC's political bias, and (b) its participation in the medicalization of everything.
Anyway, I link to the article to give the other side a say. But this is a left-biased article pretending to be even-handed. The only way in which they're representing opinion from the right is: weakly suggesting that we somewhat reverse the craziest recent leftist initiative, depolicing.
My view: if you want to reverse the murder spike, go back to doing what we were doing before the spike.
Miss me with all that liberal-progressive bullshit. I'm willing to listen to arguments about it...but not until we've reversed the current crisis.
