David A. Graham: "Why Can't Trump Just Condemn Nazis?"
Because the "Nazis" had a First-Amendment right to assemble?
Because Antifa tried to deny them their right, and exists in order to initiate illegal, anti-Constitutional violence?
Because not everyone on the right in C'ville was a Nazi?
Because everyone with half a brain or more is sick of the left's totalitarian bullshit?
One could go on and on...
One can't help but imagine how much better Obama...or even Bush...would have done. But Trump was on target, objectively speaking, tone-deaf though he was. Why does the left so often feel the need to make things worse than they actually are?

I am not sure how condemnation has anything to do with the right to assemble.
their first amendment right to assemble is not the same as condemning their ideology.
I'm not saying that he shouldn't condemn Nazis. He *has* condemned Nazis. And the author isn't claiming that he hasn't condemned Nazis--because that would be a lie.
The point is that he tends to condemn both the Nazis and Antifa, the violent, hard-left totalitarians who oppose them. Which is fine with me. I don't complain that he "can't just condemn Antifa." Condemn all those bastards.
It's a lie anyway. Trump explicitly singled out white supramacists after C'ville. He condemened the whole lot--then the left complained that he hadn't done it right. So then he did it again--still not right...some bullshit reason. Finally he said the exact words they wanted him to say.
Trump could have done a better job with this, but the left is also being its normal, insane, hysterical self.
But, hell, separate the "white supremacists suck" and the "Antifa sucks" posts into their own separate tweets. Thing is, everybody already *knows* that Nazis suck. Saying it is *pro forma.* The left is still soft-pedaling Antifa.
