The Progressive Consensus On Climate Change Is Apocalyptic; That View Is Clearly Unproven; It Is Not "The Science"
It's clear that the progressive consensus about climate change is apocalyptic. It's also clear that that view is unproven. It is NOT "the science"--i.e. it is not the consensus among climate scientists. How long have progressives, Democrats and the MSM (but I repeat myself) been hawking this bullshit? I bought it, too, until, what, maybe five years ago? The evidence that it's bullshit is out there...it just doesn't easily penetrate the powerful epistemic forcefield of progressive groupthink.
Needless to say, there's a lot we don't know about this stuff. But we can say unequivocally: progressive apocalypticism is NOT "the science."
Academia is so in the thrall of progressivism that, as soon as progressives commit to something scientists can speak on, scientists will appear seemingly out of nowhere to back them by declaring their view to be certified "the science." Look at the head-spinning speed with which transgender pseudoscience manifested to back up that nonsense. At this point, progressives basically just cut out the middleman and declare all of their views "the science" without waiting for backup from scientists (or: "scientists"). They know the cavalry is on the way--so why wait?
But don't let them cram this one down the memory hole. For something like a decade (longer?) now, they've been insisting that "the science is settled." It wasn't. It isn't. This whole time they've been able to keep the actual evidence on the DL--so much so that even reasonably diligent and non-nutty liberals such as my (old?) self are barely aware of it. They don't have to hide it completely. They just have to tamp it down enough that it's ignorable. And that's the kind of thing the progressive propaganda industry excels at.
