As usual, the negative case is easier than the positive one.

The case against the contemporary Dems is, I believe, decisive. They've lurched so far from the center, and so far from liberalism, that they're now downright dangerous to the country. They've disunified us to the point that a unified nation may not be recoverable. Their intelligentsia openly calls for the unmaking of the United States and capitalism...and, in fact, the West...from the Enlightenment forward, at the very lest. Openly. If you don't realize that, it's your fault. You need to read more. When people tell you what their real aims are, you should take them seriously.

As for what's next for the GOP and the nation...I don't know. And I don't know what to think about Anton's suggestions. But I no longer think the Dems will be much help; they've become the problem, not the solution.
