Don't be silly.

They're not checking to see whether the PMSM will lie for them--a willingness to lie can give out on you when you really need it. 

Lying is for amateurs, as is a reliance on it.

This is a belief-check, if it's anything of the kind.

What the Orwellian left wants is true believers--sycophants who actually believe whatever they're told to believe, no matter how absurd. That you can rely on. You can't really trust the man who knows that 2+2=4, but is willing to lie about it... But the man who actually believes that 2+2=5...him you can trust.

Personally, I'd guess that this'd be about a half-bridge too far for even the PMSM... I predict at least a little bit of pushback...to be immediately dismissed with a refrain of Orange Man Bad... If they just swallow this stuff, then they're even farther gone that I think...and I think they're way, way far gone.
