PC Strips *Hamilton* Of Its Snob Appeal

A policy wonk friend of mine has been going on about Hamilton since way before it was cool. When he played the soundtrack for me, I was genuinely blown away. That shit's just good. And we're both fans of the Revolution and the Founders...so...damn! You just don't run into something like that every day.

   I was a bit surprised that it caught on among "elites" who normally have little interest in the time period, and tend to have little good to say about the U.S. or its founding...but whatevs.

   But there are rumors that the PCs are coming for it. Too popular--popular with whitey, that is--that's strike one. Strike two will probably be: no explicit promotion of critical race theory. And it's always easy to manufacture a couple more strikes, because the postmodernist method of the PC left says that every interpretation is as good as any other. It is always possible to spin out a story about how something is racist--or anything else you want it to be. Once you've given up on truth, reason, and rational standards of hypothesis and interpretation, you're free to let your preferences and prejudices run wild. And that's exactly what the PC left does. 

   Whether the anti-Hamilton line become leftist orthodoxy depends on their mood. Subject to no rational standards, that'll largely depend on stochastic processes on woke Twitter. I think it could go either way. But the purity spiral makes it likely that, no matter how woke-appropriate something might be, there's always a lot of second-and-third-string woketards out there who realize they could make their reputation by taking down something that the priesthood hasn't turned on yet. Nothing establishes PC cred faster than showing that you are woker than the leading lights of Progressitarianism..

   In our dystopian progressive future, Hamilton, too, may come with a disclaimer...if it's permitted at all.

[But actually, I don't like these kinds of arguments. We don't need a slippery slope--people should recognize that things are already way past bad enough. And the woketards don't need to turn on projects featuring blacks playing whites to be bad.]
