Meh they were never close allies.
   I mean, I think the IPL is socialist. Because they're basically all bad things. But the economic/socialist left seems to me to tend to be skeptical of the IPL. The ESL is more like orthodox Marxism, and sees class and wealth as the most important explanatory and moral categories. The IPL is more neo-Marxist/critical-theory...ist. Or whatever.
   Remember Bernie's face when the BLM girls took over his mic in '16? He was not amused. He knew had to put up with it. But he didn't have the beatific glow that an IPL true believer would have, happy to temporarily relinquish his white privilege for the cause...
