Occasional Book Reviews: M. R. Carey, The Girl With All The Gifts
I read this on the recommendation of S. rex.
It didn't sound good to me, so I put it off until I was desperate... But when I finally did read it, I liked it very much. In particular, I liked the clever business associated with the title. This is a zombie novel, but it's also a novel novel--an actual novel--one of the only actual bits of zombie literature. (I'd include in that category only Zone One, by Colson Whitehead, which I really enjoyed, and Handling the Dead, by J. A. Lindqvist, which I didn't).
Anyway, philosoraptor say: check it out.
