Divine: Dems Must Heed Trump's Call for Unity in Wake of WHCD Shooting

Look, you know what I think of the contemporary Democrats.

They've lost their collective mind.

A large percentage is afflicted by rabid, delusional TDS.

And they've largely done it to themselves by immersing themselves in an echo chamber of lunacy and lies.

I continue to think that the fate of the nation lies largely with them, because we can't survive on one somewhat-reasonable political party.

And much of the Dem's rabidity is based on Trump just speaking the truth in plain terms.

Which the contemporary left absolutely, positively, cannot abide.

However.

You don't need me to tell you that Trump is doing more than his part to contribute to the general atmosphere of incivility.

A lot of the things he says are just inexcusable. They senselessly contribute to the ambient hostility between our two major political factions. I'm all for plain speaking, including refusal to use dumbass progressive newspeak. People in the country illegally are illegal aliens. "Trans women" are men. Blacks perpetrate far more violent crimes than whites. These are facts. The left tries to spin them out of existence via euphemism and plain denial.

However.

You can speak unpleasant and controversial truths without being a raving lunatic about it. If Trump really cares about promoting an atmosphere of civil disagreement, he'll turn his phone over to Susie Wiles. Or Melania. Or whoever.

I'm not saying he deserved it--the assassination attempt. Not by any stretch of the imagination.

But he's not helping.

I hope his remarks after the WHCD attempt mark a turning point for him.

But I doubt they do.
