Whelp...I Actually Voted For Donald Trump
Went to my local polling-place...it's walkable-but it's not an especially short walk. But I drove because I thought there might be a big line, and, if so, I'd come back and get some work done and vote later. Anyway, there have been modest lines in the past, but usually not much of one. This time there were only two people in front of me, both already talking to the poll workers. I thought Northam had eliminated the requirement to show ID, but they were checking them. I was happy to see that. Got my ballot, filled it out, and did my usual compulsive multiple rechecks to make sure I didn't somehow manage to vote for the wrong person for President. Which, of course, maybe I did...since I did, in fact, vote for Trump. I'm certain that I know more about policy and politics than I used to. I think I deserve to be more certain about this decision than I deserved to be about past decisions...but wasn't actually more certain. I had fairly serious qualms about voting for Gore--though I think I was clearly right to have done so. I feel like, in some sense, I should have had more qualms about voting for Trump than I actually had...but of course I didn't I had exactly the qualms that I had. Oh well. At least my vote won't matter...whew!
