NYC Murders Up 50% For July
This was caused by BLM.
There can't be much doubt about that.
Every reasonable person who knows anything about the issue--and who isn't blinded by their political commitments--predicted that this would happen...though I certainly didn't think it'd happen this fast.
Of course not every part of the USA has the kind of baseline level of violence that NYC has. But whatever the baseline of violence is in any given place, depolicing will raise the actual level of violence to a point nearer the baseline or natural level of violence is. It won't matter much in my little burg. But it might matter a lot in yours.
We already know what depolicing does. The Ferguson Effect is known. Progressives deny it because it's inconsistent with their religious ideology. But those interested in evidence and truth know what happens when the police don't police.
I have no tolerance for police brutality. That ought to go without saying. But you can be against police brutality without accepting a bunch of quasi-religious, counterfactual bullshit about systemic racism and depolicing.
The ordinary, commonsense liberal/conservative view is: ferret out the truth, then make policy on the basis of it. The PC progressive view is: start with your secular religion, and refuse to believe any facts that aren't consistent with it. Only one of these approaches works.
