Barr Concerned That Black Males Face Disproportionate Policing
Something I posted by McWhorter some months back expressed a similar concern. His view is or was that the disproportionate unjustified killing thesis had been proven false, but that the thesis that black males face a disproportionate amount of nonlethal police violence was still and open one. That is: not proven but not disproven. I don't know much about that debate, but that's roughly my understanding as well.
And Barr is certainly right that "...it is wrong if people are not respected appropriately and given their due." Particularly wrong (and this is pretty clearly what he means) when it's the government that fails to do so.
