Possibly Somewhat Interesting Personal Note

There's a sort of alley behind our house that's a sort of "greenway"--it's a wide strip of grass running through a couple of blocks. We were told when we moved in that, by informal agreement, no one extends their yard so as to claim it--everyone adjacent to it keeps it open, allegedly in case the fire department ever needs it. But really, it's just a nice, couple-of-blocks-long, 15' wide strip of grass. Though I seem to be the only one who uses it--to walk the dog. 

   Just off our property, adjacent to our neighbor's property, someone piled brush maybe a year or so ago. You'd have to really want to get through there to do so. I've been meaning to clear it out for awhile now, to open up our end of the alley/"greenway." I had a chance to do so the other day...and didn't. And won't, upon reflection. The way things are going, I don't want an open path that runs, in part, along the back of our property, nor along our neighbor's property. In fact, I think I'll add some more brush on top of it.

   I've also been improving our fencing. I had to build another leg of the fence anyway, and found some sweet-ass, unusually nice/sturdy pickets at Lowe's. 

   Our town has been spared the ravages of the super-peaceful social-justice riots for peace. But things just keep getting more and more insane. Aside from some generic faith in something like regression to the mean, I don't see much reason to think they won't get insaner. The left now seem to be barreling so rapidly and rabidly leftward that we barely even hear about their newest insane idea before we hear that some blue city somewhere is implementing it. I worked hard to help turn our town blue, and it finally happened in about '08... Now, of course, I realize that was an error, and sorely regret it. 

   The measures described above may should paranoid. To riff on a recent theme: I hope they are. I suspect that the only hope for the country is that I've flipped my shit. The possibility that I'm right about what's happening is almost too awful to contemplate. So let's all hope I'm nuts.
