The Walls Are Closing In On DRUMPFFFF: Part The MMCCVVXXIIth; And: On The Bright Side, Maybe I've Lost My Mind

Actually, it seems like it'd take kind of a miracle for Trump--or maybe anybody else--to defeat the cult. They've spun every bad thing since the exposure of their failed Russiagate hoax (for which they seem to have paid no political price) into an apocalyptic catastrophe--and his fault. (Which some of it, of course, seems to have been.) Now the groundwork they've been laying for years promoting the open season myth has come to fruition. Their hysterification of the Wuhan virus pandemic was fizzling out, but they were lucky enough for the Ahmaud Arbery and George Floyd cases to hit the news, and here we are. Just as people were beginning to grumble that they'd been played by pandemic hysteria, and just as great economic news hit, and just as Trump was gaining ground with blacks...and, even more importantly, just as the Durham investigation is about to throw light on Russiagategate...progressives and the media rolled a '20.' Though it wasn't just luck--they've worked hard for this, invested much in it. Planned and schemed and lied like it was their job. Which it basically is now.
So yeah, maybe this is the end of Trump. It would be extremely difficult for any president to win against the forces arrayed against this one. Not only is he in a fight with people who buy ink by the barrel, but they don't even have to buy the ink anymore.
Of course he himself is riddled with ostentatious flaws. Perhaps a calm, reasonable conservative or liberal president could win--maybe an '08 Obama. Someone who hadn't alienated the more reasonable voices in his own party. Someone who didn't give the cult so many rough edges on which to plausibly hang false accusations. But maybe not. Right now, at least, it seems hard to believe that anything or anyone can stand up against the ecstatic passion and moral hysteria of the cult.
At any rate, they seem to have pulled out all the stops this time. Racism is their trump card, as it were. No sense in fiddling around with Rooskies or viruses anymore...too unreliable. Drop the R bomb. See your enemies driven before you. People are so terrified of it that they often won't even defend themselves against it--they'll just burst into tears and beg forgiveness. It's their only hope for salvaging their lives and reputations. People are terrified of being accused of race-witchery even those without a racist bone in their bodies. Consider: if you were asked what you thought about all this, in an interview you knew all your friends and neighbors and colleagues and family would see, and you couldn't just walk away, would you tell the truth? Would you say: well, the numbers don't support the open season myth...the media lied about the Trayvon Martin case...the media and Democrats are still lying about the Michael Brown case... Would you start off by saying that you're not a racist? (Begging people to believe you aren't, really.) I don't think you could be blamed. If you attract the attention of the Inquisition, the truth will probably not save you.
The cornerstone of political correctness is that it brooks no disagreement. There is one "narrative," one permissible, extremely narrow, range of beliefs. (They often change capriciously, but this one wont.) Behold your future on the current trajectory. Numbers don't matter. Facts don't matter. If you think they do, it shows that you don't care enough about racism. The open season claim is true--regardless of whether it is or not. Or, rather: to care whether its true is to show that you don't hate racism enough.
Trump's a wreck. But he's not an irrationalist cult intent on transforming the country to conform to its dogma. Even though he's only about half as bad as the left thinks, he's still not good enough to be president. But he is--or so I've judged for the last year or so--by far the less-catastrophic of our available options. Trump is survivable. The other guys are likely not to be. They represent another mile or two or ten traveled down the road to the end of everything.
Needless to say: I hope I'm completely wrong about all of this. The best possibility is that I've lost my mind and become some sort of racist kook. Tragic as that would be for me personally, it would raise the likelihood of survival for the country--and for Western Civilization. So I suppose we should all hope that that's what's going on.
