If it becomes obligatory to denounce "whiteness" and bow down and kiss the feet of the first black person you meet on the street every day--else you'll be accused of racism--what percentage of white progressives would object? Half at most? A quarter? Certainly many would choose to drop and kiss. What percentage would rather do just about anything than be so accused? What percentage would actually do so willingly? Eagerly? The answer is: a shockingly large percentage. No abasement is too base, and you know it's true.
