Bush's Attempt To Boost Morale, Trump's Jackass Response
I don't need this sort of thing, but it helps some people, and I admire--and am grateful for--the effort. Mr. Bush was not a good president, but he's clearly a good man, and he seems to be a pretty good ex-president. He even went so far as to include Trump's stock silly phrase "invisible enemy," probably as a gesture to Mr. Trump...who promptly slapped it away.
Trump's pathological.
Though...he's kinda right. Which makes his tone-deaf, jackass response understandable...but also even stupider. Including this **** you in an ostensible thank you...before the latter thought had even been completed... What kind of dumbass does such a thing? Even merely tactically, it's ridiculous. Alienating Bush and those who strongly support him is...well, why even finish the thought?
Though, as is so often the case, Trump does have a point. I've never seen an American president treated so unfairly--and, probably: criminally. Which does make his ire understandable. He's wrong on style...but he's kinda right on substance.
Though: shouldn't he put that personal stuff aside when Bush is trying to do something good for the country? Something many think that Trump himself ought to be doing?
Response: this isn't merely personal.
Counter-response: you know, one of the last things we need right now is gratuitous conflict. Not only would that have been easy to avoid, you kinda have to try to work it in...
I don't really know what to say.
People who become inarticulate with rage about Trump seem not to care about the monumental, Watergate-on-steroids that is Russiagate. And which is about to be Russiagategate. Anyway: President Jackass has a point. But what a ridiculous way to express it. But: you try remaining calm when the accusation that you hired hookers to pee on each other in Obama's bed is one of the less scurrilous accusations you've had to weather.
