Birx: China Lied, People Died

I didn't really understand how significant China's lies about the Wuhan virus were. Somehow I sort of thought that the lies shouldn't have made that much difference. I don't know why I thought that.
Birx's explanation was like turning on a light--the lies led experts outside of China to think it was like SARS--deadly but not so contagious. The lies prevented them from going to DefCon 1, as everyone know realizes they should have.
You know...I haven't much liked Trump's locutions "China virus"/"Chinese virus"...but this information makes 'em grow on me.
