Ben Erehnreich/The Nation: "Open Borders Must Be Part Of Any Response To Climate Crisis"
Ah, climate change...the rhetorical magic wand that makes every progressive policy an immediate and non-negotiable matter of planetary survival...
This is so hilariously ridiculous that I'm not even going to mess with it.
Though one of the best bits:
Another bit: it's climate change that's causing the immigration problem... No, really! That weather/climate distinction is...y'know...blurrier when you're defending the politically correct view.
Also and of course: having immigration laws at all is...starts with an 'r'...ends with an 'ist'...
One last point I'll make again: if climate change did constitute a planetary catastrophe that we only had a decade to fix...which it might but probably doesn't...then one of the very worst things we could do is let in more immigrants from places like Central America. Their carbon footprint grows, like, an order of magnitude as soon as they even see a Wal-Mart.
Overexposure to the progressive clown show--in particular those bits associated with discussions of illegal immigration and climate change--can't but make rational people cynical. But...
Well, no 'but,' really.
[Addendum: I try...I really do...to read and understand whichever side is pissing me off the most at any given time...but when I keep coming across nonsense like this...it just makes it worse. But, again: The Nation really did do some good work on Russiagate. Gotta keep that in mind.]

Though one of the best bits:
Borders, like nations, present themselves as natural and eternal. The mind, it, like, reeleth… Has anyone ever believed that? Anywhere? Anytime?
