The end of the Global! Warming! Action! Window! is like nuclear fusion: always ten years away. Never closed--because then there would be no need to implement progressive policies. Never longer than that--because then we'd have time to think about them. Always just far enough away that we need to implement them right now no time to think! Oh and also, y'know, universal basic income, and a $27.50 minimum wage, and legal enforcement of transgender pronouns...and adjectives... Because if a giant meteor were hurtling toward the Earth, and the only hope of stopping it was to put 100% of our resources into developing a giant anti-asteroid laser, nothing would do more to advance that project than mandatory diversity training in kindergarten and passing the Equal Rights Amendment. And single-payer health-care. And funding NPR.
