And what you need to realize is that the cultural left does not represent very many people. It certainly does not speak for mainstream liberals, or even very many on the political left. So just ignore them.
Not true, though.
They're bringing about real social changes, especially on campus. And mostly bad ones. I don't know how many of them there really are, but they're extremely *influential.* What seems like a large percentage of "progressives" refuse to criticize them, and actually defend them...and, let's face it, agree with them. And the extremist cultural left is largely immune from criticism in academia and the mainstream media.
Making too much of them may be bad...but it's not nearly as bad as underestimating the threat they pose--which is substantial.
And...are there any actual liberals left?
I worry that they're a dying breed.
