Doubleplusungood Superduper Wrongthink At Google

Here it is, the "Anti-Diversity Screed" that's got progressive panties in a wad all across the interwebs.
The most important point: it barely even matters how much of this is right. What matters is:
(a) It's reasonable (i.e. much of it may very well be right)
and
(b) Much of it has already been confirmed by the hysterical reaction to the thing.
This is basically McEnroe v. Williams II: it's an attempt to dispassionately state facts and analyze problems that is being misrepresented as sexism. Everything is laid out right in front of us here. There is simply no doubt that this is a serious essay, stating serious, obvious, fairly-likely-to-be-true positions that deserve--in fact demand--to be taken seriously. The claim that this is some kind of sexist screed is utter bullshit. It might be false--but if so, then lay out the arguments and evidence. Prove it, don't assume it.
But PC/progressives don't do logic. Their first, last, and more-or-less only argument is some variation on "that's racist."*

*Yeah, yeah...that's an exaggeration...but not much of one...

[Still more confirmation of what's in that document: link
   Here's a gem:
"Essentially, engineering is all about cooperation, collaboration, and empathy for both your colleagues and your customers."
See? You didn't even need to take all that math or learn all that coding! Engineering is essentially about cooperation, collaboration and empathy! Shit, I can do all that stuff...I reckon I'm an engineer!
And, in case you had any doubts about the totalitarian inclinations of these people:
I’m writing this here, in this message, because I’m no longer at the company and can say this sort of thing openly. But I want to make it very clear: if you were in my reporting chain, all of part (3) would have been replaced with a short “this is not acceptable” and maybe that last paragraph above. You would have heard part (3) in a much smaller meeting, including you, me, your manager, your HRBP, and someone from legal. And it would have ended with you being escorted from the building by security and told that your personal items will be mailed to you. And the fact that you think this was “all in the name of open discussion,” and don’t realize any of these deeper consequences, makes this worse, not better.
If they don't actually have the ability to punish you for your wrongthink, they'll settle for engaging in some revenge fantasies...
This dude really hit a whole bundle of nerves with this essay.]

The engineer who published that essay is a hero. Silicon Valley is one of the least critical, stupidest bastions of progressivism there is (coming from a guy who's been in tech for a while).

Forcing Google, which is really the pacesetter of the industry, to confront the creeping totalitarianism of diversity driven HR is incredibly salutory.
