Dems Seethe After Georgia Loss: "Our Brand Is Worse Than Trump"

link
If history has taught us anything, the cause of the loss will be identified as "failing to communicate our message effectively."
It's never the content of the "message," of course. Neither the Dems nor the Pubs ever admit that their ideas might be bad or unpopular.

That article is mostly just axe-grinding, not any substantive news. 538 did an analysis suggesting that GA6 was about #80 on the list of likeliest districts to flip. The reason it came up at all was because the Republicans assumed it was a safe seat, and indeed they won the November congressional election by around 20 points. So this was a 16 point shift. That would be more than enough to shift the house in 2018. Now, a shift that big is unlikely to happen, but again: it's not necessary. Only a few points would be enough. Do the guy saying "less popular than Trump" is...making an unsupported claim, at best.

Note: I am not saying your claim is wrong. I am saying the article you link is weak support for it.

I don't have an argument, unless you mean my assertion that both parties blame "messaging."

As for the loss, I totally agree: it was / should have been expected. So I don't think we'd disagree about that.

As for the Dem "brand" (damn I hate that use of the word) being in bigger trouble than Trump's...well...it seems to have been in November... I'm not sure what the future holds. The Dems scare me...but I can't see them being in the same league as Trump by any stretch of the imagination.
