ICE produces a report that says exactly what ICE would want it to say. Not convinced.
Can you say more about this?
Does ICE want to deport more people?
Well yeah, they clearly want to deport more people. What I can't tell is if these people are just being arrested and then released because there's no case, or if they have actually been convicted.
I also can't tell how serious the incidents actually were. A more useful metric would be a breakdown of crime in these cities vs. ones not on the list. To what extent does their policy improve trust of police in immigrant communities, for both legal and illegal immigrants? Does it help? 45 arrests in a particular week over 10 large cities doesn't provide much context.

TLDR: ICE has stopped issuing these "declined detainer" reports because they were wildly inaccurate.
Don't you mean:
Cities that refuse to cooperate with ICE report that ICE reports on their failure to cooperate are inaccurate...ICE temporarily suspends publication of the reports?
I can only state what I've read in numerous places. ICE wants to arrest and deport more people.
Yeah, that doesn't seem like a great goal in a certain respect...though isn't it more likely that they want to arrest and depart many *people who are here illegally*?
But I don't know, obviously. I'm totally clueless about all this.
