There are lots of people in philosophy with a heavy commitment to the discrimination hypothesis. We've all just accepted that hypothesis fairly uncritically...me included...despite the fact that it doesn't really cohere very well with my actual experience...
So this stuff is all very interesting and deserves a lot of attention.
