What gets me about this is that the F22 has most of the F35's features, is a better fighter, AND costs half the price. So of course the decision was to cancel the F22..
Jesus Christ how did I not know that the F-35 was more expensive than the F-22????????? I thought the JSF was supposed to be a cheap replacement for e.g. the F-16... Despite everything I've read about this, I had no idea it was more expensive than the F-22...
Whelp, as you point out PM, this doesn't seem to make a damn lick of sense...
