Random Michelle K on the Elk River Chemical Spill

16% of the population of West By God Virginia affected.

Just heard today that folks in the Valley are starting to collect water to take over the county [state, derp]  line, but also heard that it's starting to clear up.

Damn that must have been a helluva spill.

People all over the state were collecting water to send to the area. There was a collection in Morgantown over the weekend.

Additionally, people with well water, or who got their water from a different water company (One that pulled water from somewhere else) were not under water restrictions, so most people who had water invited their waterless friends.

What maddens me most is that that containment was a known problem. But nothing was done about it.

As a cynical exchange on Facebook went, "can't do anything to endanger jobs, so we can't have any of those regulations."

Yeah. I'm STILL angry.

What I can't believe is that a company that provides chemicals for the coal and paper industries would be so unconcerned about WV's environment... [/s]

"What do you MEAN companies don't have the best interest of the population at heart? Next think you'll be telling me Ford would sell an exploding car!"
