Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari signed into law Monday a peace deal for the nation's violence-plagued Swat Valley, according to a presidential spokesman.
The deal implements Islamic law, or sharia, in the Swat Valley region of North West Frontier Province.

Hey, I hate sharia as much as the next guy. sharia sucks balls and should be resisted worldwide. But I'm betting that as shitty as it is to live under sharia, it probably beats getting your ass blown up by us airstrikes/taliban nutbags/pakistani commandos.
Me, I'd take the risk of airstrikes over a certainty of Sharia any day...
But all I was really saying here is that: cultural moral relativists should probably be happy about this.
No one is denying you're a badass, Winston, but I'd say that most people are willing to trade freedom for security 9 times out of 10.
Of course, you're right about the relativits, but the very fact that you probably can't find any western cultural relativists who would, in fact, be happy about it just shows the incoherence of their non-philosophy.

But I think a fairly large percentage of people would choose a fairly small chance of being blown up over Sharia. You don't have to be an utter badass of the Smithean variety...
