Go Green, Go Blue!

Those clever folks at the University of Michigan may have solved a good bit of our energy problem. Nice work, Wolverines!

Fascinating. One potential downside that I can imagine is keeping the system clear of sediment that might accumulate.

Sounds like maybe a great future employment opportunity for divers who can do underwater construction and maintenance.

(nerd)

There's a moment in an old Aaron Sorkin show when two characters are watching someone scale Everest and one says to the other, "Did you know we could do that??"

This is one of the reasons I like Star Trek so much. Trek celebrates the power of the human mind to overcome seemingly insurmountable problems. Who would ever have thought that we could get energy out of slow moving water? It's one of those moments of awe at the accomplishments of humanity. For me, anyways.
