(ii) ALL of the credit for the fact that we have not been attacked since 9/11
This even though, of course, NOT being attacked is the normal course of events, and would be the smart prediction even if we'd done nothing at all after 9/11.

The Washington Post currently reports that "Palin links 9/11 attacks with Iraq"--a view that has even been discredited by the Bush administration. Winston, I know you recommend that we Obama suupporters should not sneer at Palin's stupid remarks, but this claim does seem sneer-worthy.

Well, of course, just b/c I suggest it don't mean it's right, as I think we've all learned by now...
I agree that that's objectively sneer-worthy...but mine's a strategic point: we have to think about what's going to win. Treat her comments seriously.
In this case, maybe: outrage rather than disdain?
It's really astonishing.
