I dunno. It's not deep-fried beer so much as a beer-filled pastry. And, personally, I don't much care for scalding-hot alcohol exploding out of my mouth and all over my chin when I bite into my beer-flavoured treats.
A friend of mine actually came up with a recipe for fried beer a few years back that worked extremely well. Rather than the pocket-of-beer thing, it was more like fried dough made from a beer batter, which we then topped with a beer syrup that was made by reducing beer and sugar on the stove. I tell you, that was a heavenly confection right there. Getting the right beer:sugar ratio to produce a syrup rather than just heated-up beer was incredibly difficult, though.
Ah, and she's just posted her recipe (with evidence that she came up with it first), too!
