RFK jr. vs. the Loathsome Elizabeth Warren
I'm not an RFK jr. fan, and, so far as I can tell, he isn't qualified to be HHS Secretary.
Of course, I could be wrong.
But.
Fauxcahontas is just awful in this hearing.
She is either too dumb or too dishonest to recognize/admit that Kennedy is right.
She's equivocating on 'available.'
Kennedy's right: the vax is available to everyone--in the relevant sense of 'available'--but it's not recommended for everyone.
Which seems to me to be exactly the right position.
The vax should never have been pushed on--forced on--healthy young people.
Basically, the CDC's (correct, so far as I can tell) is: It's up to you whether to you get it or not, but we are not saying that everyone ought to get it.
Warren--again, either stupidly or dishonestly or some combination of the two--is saying:
No, it's not available to everyone...because if you don't recommend it for everyone, some people will have to pay for it...and some people's insurance won't cover it...and some of those people can't afford it...so it's not available to everyone. And so you lied when you said it would still be available to everyone.
As if Kennedy had ever said that no one would have to pay for it.
As Kennedy notes, Warren is coming pretty close to saying: if the government doesn't obligate insurance companies to pay for some medication, it's the same as prohibiting people from acquiring that medication.
She's just awful.
Anyway: sorry, this version of the video is embedded in comments by a guy, Warren Smith, who, IIRC, got fired from an academic job for not being woke. I've heard him say smart things, but this commentary isn't all that good. I just skipped through it to see the Kennedy-Warren bits.
Oh and: I don't know anything about the firing in question at the end of the clip. His claim that the person in question said "I am not a trustworthy person" obviously strains credulity. And it's pretty weird that he seems to have fired her after like three weeks... Though he does score a point, I think, against Warren when he notes that she voted against confirming the firee and now she's mad about it. But I dunno. It's kind of a slap fight at that point.
Anyway:
