Rachel Drucker: "Men, Where Have You Gone? Please Come Back."

This was apparently a popular and allegedly significant op-ed.
   I don't know what's going on.
There's been a lot of stuff about men retreating from the social sphere. Which, given the rabid sexism of the contemporary (especially feminist) left, might be understandable. Then there's the alleged state of the contemporary--mostly app-o-centric--dating scene, in which...according to conventional wisdom...the most immediately/superficially desirable 15% or so of men are getting like 90% of the action.
Then there's all the--I'd guess performative--stuff on the interwebs where women say things like "I won't date anyone less than six feet and six figures." Now, just about any 20-year-old who says that doesn't really understand what she's saying--or doesn't mean it. I just interpreted it to be another way of saying (something that also seems common among such women) "I'm a ten." It's a way for them to assert something (generally highly implausible) about their own "sexual market value."
But who knows, some might believe it. And perhaps more to the point: some guys might believe it.
Anyway, perhaps Ms. Drucker herself contributed to the problem--but there's no sign in that post that she did. So she's probably one of the women paying the price for a bunch of stupid things other women say and do.
And guys maybe need to toughen up...though perhaps easy for me to say, given that I wasn't really "on the market" all that long after the advent of internet dating, and only dabbled in it.
The piece seems heartfelt (though I have to add, perhaps irritatingly, the writing isn't exactly my cup of tea.) I do wish Ms. Drucker success in the future, and give her some credit for taking a swing at the problem.
