Sullum: "Do These Seditious Conspiracy Convictions Prove That The Capitol Riot Was 'Not Spontaneous'?"

Betteridge's Law of Headlines applies here, as per usual:  the answer is no.
The convictions are a joke, in my completely unprofessional opinion, and Sullum treats them, if anything, with rather too much respect. Other than that, I agree with everything he writes. Though I'm not a lawyer, so that doesn't count for all that much.
The Capitol Riot is like a microcosm of the Trump years...but moreso: Trump shoots his big fat mouth off, says something idiotic, and the newly unhinged and radical Democrat party loses its goddamned mind... Bad as the riot was, the Dems' response has somehow managed to be even worse. Though pre-election blue-team accusations were mostly nuts, and post-election complaints were more-or-less right, I'd say. So that's a big difference.
Anyway: prediction: these verdicts will be overturned.
