Rolling Stone: Why Cancel Culture Is Good For Democracy

As you can see, the left is about to move from its Standard Phase I Defense:

That thing you think we're doing does not exist / we are not doing it

To Standard Phase II Defense:

That thing you think we're doing DOES exist / we ARE doing it--but it is good.

  In this case, cancel culture--which used to be a figment of the right-wing mind / a fascist fantasy / etc., has now been decreed real--and, of course, good. Well, actually, leftist started nudging cancel culture toward Phase II well over a year ago. So it joins other formerly-fictional but now-good leftist phenomena/organizations like political correctness, Antifa, CRT, CRT in schools, gender ideology, and various kinds of sexual mutilation of minors. 
   There's actually a Phase III: It's Essential! (E.g.: (a) it's impossible to teach anything about the history of race in America without teaching CRT and (b) we have to sexually mutilate the children or they will kill themselves.) But I just roll that into Phase II as a sub-phase.

   And, of course, cancel culture is just accountability! Which is why it's good! 

   Jesus, you really can't make this stuff up...
