The Typical Pattern: Trump Exaggerates/Bullshits / Progressives Lose Their Minds / Trump Comes Out Looking Like The Less-Crazy Party

Trump says he's done more for the black community than any president other than Lincoln.
Well, he's done a lot, actually...
But the interviewer asks the obvious question: What about Johnson?
Trump [lists accomplishments]
Bitchy interviewer: The civil rights act! (Which is, admittedly, the good point to make there.)
Trump: "How has that worked out?" Meaning, obviously: Johnson's accomplishments overall, and likely meaning: the Great Society...which...has been very far from an unmitigated success. In particular, it's likely to have been instrumental in the destruction of black families.
(And that's not to mention the bad consequences of the Civil Rights Act of '64 specifically...e.g. the disaster of "disparate impact.")
Anyway: Given the mixed / unclear legacy of Johnson, Trump's actually got a point--though how much of a point is a question for historians, and I'm not qualified to speak much on it.
Switch to:
Gaggle MSNBC squawkers. MSNBC talking head can barely contain her contempt for Trump. Distorts the question by saying that he said he'd done more for American blacks than any other president...which, of course, he didn't say.
Dude on the left then deploys Dishonest Anti-Trump Tactic #4: Hold Trump to standards you'd never hold anyone else to. How dare he say that he's done things FOR the black community!? All they need from him is for him to do his job and they'll take care of themselves! He's like a plantation owner! HOW DARE HE???????
Just plain bullshit. There'd never have been a peep from the left about Obama saying such a thing.
They are driven to such unreason by their hatred that they eagerly leap into total irrationality.
The point to make would have been that Johnson did a lot, and, if we stick with the standard view of his accomplishments, he seems to have done a lot more than Trump in that respect.
Now, if conservative critiques are right, and if we subtract the bad effects of Johnson's accomplishments from the good effects, Trump might have a point--but that's a lot of 'if's and suchlike.
Also: the PMSM has now obviously adopted a tactic of interrupting Trump and outright sneering at him and being otherwise disrespectful when he speaks--I think they even have a little "hashtag"...like "InterruptTrump" or something. It's disgusting.
I've begun pulling for Trump mostly because his enemies are so f*cking loathsome.
