Of course nothing in academia is immune from the corrupting clutches of the illiberal left.

Here's just the AAUP's latest.

There's no reason for a professional organization to have a political view at all. And the politics they promote is the single biggest threat to the university in our time--or in recent memory. Nothing they fight is as antithetical to the idea of the university as the politics they advocate. 

Their crazy politics is what prevents me from joining.
