Mike Nayna Documentary On Weinstein and Evergreen State College: Part 1

Troublemakers Boghossian, Pluckrose and Lindsay are back at it:
If you are skeptical of the claim that the contemporary PC/progressive/IP left is a quasi-religion...well...watching the "canoe" scene should dislodge your doubts. It's basically a progressive tent revival. A creepy, creepy tent revival. Creepy even by the standards of tent revivals. Well, I dunno...ordinary tent revivals are pretty creepy. Ok: no less creepy than an ordinary tent revival, anyway.
And it's way cringey watching this guy try to pull off pseudo-profound political theater extemporaneously. Behold the magical invisible canoe! No...wait...um...three across? No? Ok..well...no wait! Administrators have to ask permission! And, uh, everybody confess xir...privilege or whatever! Man, these people have such a boner for control. Their fetish for telling other people what to do really is one of the cornerstones of their position. That fetish is largely independent of the content of their ideas. Here it manifests itself rather more calmly, pathetically and cringily. But when they get riled up and start shrieking, it comes out in a really raw form--Don't gesture with your arms! Put your hands down! Stop smilling! Don't use that word! It's ma'am!
The fact that these people and ideas have become so powerful in academia (and, in fact, the culture at large) is no less a threat than it would be if, say, Scientology had become powerful. Though at least in that case it's hard to imagine that so many people would think it was ordinary and fine and right. The PCs have seized control, and huge swaths of society seems to think there's nothing at all wrong with this...that it's perfectly normal and good--we're being frogmarched onto the right side of history.

[Note also the stuff around 24-25:00, where they're filing out. Weinstein describes it as "sleepwalking." Zombies also come to mind.]

[And don't miss (at 25:48) the "hidden foundations" (of racism?) slide. Note that these include universalism, individualism, "the good/bad binary," color-blindness...and...surprisingly..."celebrate diversity." These people are nuts.]

[27:14: lefty speaker recommends violence and prayer. 'nuff said.]

[Throughout: Robin DiAngelo, "scholar of whiteness studies." Gotta love the way she asserts completely daft shit as if it were the plainest fact.]
