This is madness. Write it down. Remember it. When this is all over, it will finally dawn on people that this is the new Satanic Panic. People have accepted a completely insane theory...with very little resistance. If you can be convinced that men are women and vice-versa, then you can be convinced of anything. Basically the left can be manipulated by its vocal vanguard, and is willing to pretend to accept--and, worse, actually accept--even what are basically outright contradictions.
I'm all for bucking "the sex-gender system"...but this is madness.
The left needs to take a long, hard look at how irrational, immune to facts, and sheep-like it has become. The right's acquiescence to Trump isn't 1/10th as insane as the left's acquiescence to transgender ideology.

It's not just that they're perpetuating a moral panic, it's that they're exerting massive social censure on anyone who is trying to protect their children from the panic that distinguishes this case in my mind.
Which I suppose is how you distinguish a moral panic over a false morality instead of merely a false belief. If Satanic worshippers really were abducting kids, that would be incontrovertibly harmful, and once the lack of Satanists became apparent, it died down. But if someone really thinks they're the wrong gender, that's still not good reason to encourage them to destroy their sex organs and completely alter their biochemistry. And that's ultimately what you have to admit if you think sex/gender really are a matter of self-definition, and it's hard to tell what will prevent people from believing this if they're willing to celebrate this.
There's a sort of blase liberal assumption that you can do whatever you want to yourself as long as you aren't harming others, and it works fine for political theory (where nothing really works anyway so it's a garbage proving ground), but it's plainly idiotic morality and SJWs are exploiting that weakness to push this crap. Anyone who actually cares for someone and realizes how idiotic people can be learns that lesson very quickly.
