Jonny Quest's City Council Voter's Guide

Jonny Quest prepared the following voter's guide for me for our up-coming city council election, with her recommendations '*'d. Names and exact amounts have been changed to maintain my thin veneer of anonymity:
Candidate 1:
CROOK; evaded [about $60k] in taxes
Candidate 2:
     Platform: I'm Hispanic
Candidate 3:
     Platform: I'm a mom
     Oh yeah, I'm also:
     - A community organizer
     - Queer
     - An illegal alien
     But also:
     - Pro-union
     - Pro-labor
     - Against incarcerations for nominal offenses
Candidate 4:*
Platform: The government is terrible, just like those kids next door.
[But yes, vote for him, he's just a regular guy]
Candidate 5: *
Platform: I don't want a new high school

One point that she doesnt make: using the "male gaze" can really wreck a story, if it is supposed to be from a female POV.

Vote for #5, unless the new school is an absolute necessity. That is a buge, huge deal in local politics.
