And this entirely indisputable judgment can be made with absolute certainty...halfway through the guy's first term in office. He is already worse than the genocidal Jackson, and worse than Dubya, who (though he deserves praise for addressing AIDS in Africa) tried to steal an election, and cynically misused the worst terrorist attack in American history to lie us into a disastrous and entirely optional $2.5 trillion war.
That piece of crap op-ed is basically an exercise in goalpost-moving and equivocating on 'bad president.' Sometimes it means bad qua president, sometimes it means bad person who was president.
Trump is bad. There's no reason to exaggerate his badness. That kind of nonsense is grade-A TDS. Trump's extremely unlikely to end up as the worst president ever. Such judgments aren't even easy to make across 250 years--years that include slavery and its abolition. If Trump keeps the stock market up, avoids stupid wars, and basically isn't a disaster in other respects, he'll end up being way, way, way far from the worst president we've ever had. If he gets us a court that continues to be a bulwark against the anti-First- and anti-Second-Amendment pushes from the far left, he'll have done something invaluable.
I can't stand the guy, but primal screams masquerading as analysis don't help in any way.

Agricultural advocates in California are ratcheting up the pressure on the White House as a months-long trade dispute threatens to cost the industry billions of dollars and potentially put farmers out of business.
A group including Brian Kuehl, executive director of Farmers for Free Trade, a non-profit group, and Rep. Jim Costa, D-Fresno, gathered at the Fresno County Farm Bureau office on Wednesday to push for a resolution to the trade war that has pitted the U.S. against major trading partners, including China, Mexico and Canada.
The Trump Administration, in a move to try and chip away at a trade deficit, has levied tariffs on imported goods, including aluminum and steel. In retaliation, the trading partners have slapped their own tariffs against the U.S., with California agriculture suffering the consequences.

It’s sad to see an analytical mind fall to pieces.
Trump doesn't have the intelligence (Wilson), charisma (Jackson), moralism (Dubya), or initiative (Nixon) to be a candidate for worst-president-ever. Nor are these times like the late 1850's, where a perfectly mediocre leader (Buchanan) could be awful just by failing to be great.
I often think of the formulation I first saw here: This is not the darkest timeline; this is the most embarrassing timeline.
You know better than that, DA. You can't even seriously be committed to your own arguments anymore.
