Are you...serious? I mean this totally misrepresents what the article is about. It's simply looking at air pollution in different areas, and noted that...oh, whatever.
Yeah, that one is on the editor, not the author. The basic observation that air quality variations are hard on blacks is pretty well known.
Yeah, I should have clarified that it was the title I was making fun of.
It's not inconsequential--I think it's actually a substantive commitment of such progressives: there's a difference that correlates with race, and whites come out on the better end of it, ergo it's racist.
It isn't just a rhetorical flourish.
Some of it's just for the clicks...which I also think is worth thinking about. "That's racist!," "transphobia!" and all the rest function at lefty publications kinda the way "Seventeen sex tips that will blow his mind" functions at Cosmo and "Batboy!" used to function at the Weekly World News.
Sorry, totally zoned the title and went for the meat of the article.
