Kelly, to some extent, brings this nonsense on himself by bringing up the question of language. Forget that. The point to make over and over is: immigrants are welcome, but only if they enter legally. That's his real point, but it gets lost in the irrelevant dust-up over his comments about speaking English.

I, at least partially, disagree. They also oppose legal immigrants. Look how the census is gearing up to _only_ count American citizens. This will disenfranchise legal immigrants who work and live here. The laws affect them also.
Also, 'immigrants are welcome, but only if they enter legally' is not Kelly's 'real point'. An important part of what he himself took to be his point was that people coming from the south are uneducated, and unwilling and unable to 'assimilate'. This is actually not even consistent with 'legal immigrants are welcome', because the people with the origins he was talking about don't only enter the country illegally.
