Goldberg Was Wrong About Peterson Wanting To Outlaw Makeup In The Workplace...But It Maybe Wasn't Her Fault

It seems that Vice (or somebody) cut the interview to give a false impression of Peterson's view, and Goldberg may very well have seen the misleading version.
Here's a part of the uncut version, in which he unequivocally rejects the view Goldberg attributed to him.

With the caveat that this is entirely plausible, but I distinctly remember that Vice interview and the aftermath of it, where Peterson very clearly explained the deceptive editing and the point he was trying to make. I don't expect everyone to keep track of the play-by-play on this stuff (and that's exactly why the media plays these games btw), but I do somewhat expect a journalist as invested in feminism as Goldberg to have a decent knowledge of this.

So maybe she wasn't aware, but that is frankly negligence on her part in that case. If you are a public figure, and you're trying to attack the reputation of someone, you need to do your homework on it. Innocence until proven guilty should apply to debate as well as criminal proceedings, because ad hominem is such a fallacious, yet dangerous tool.

Good point, A. I think, having thus screwed the pooch, MG can largely redeem herself by admitting error and apologizing--which I completely expect her to do...if she hasn't done so already.

You have a higher opinion of her than I; I doubt she will admit error. She wasn't called out by the right people on the error.
