I prefer my satire to be just at the edge of credibility, not several steps beyond.
I thought it was great, myself. Though I would say of it: there’s a contemporary view of truth here.
Presumably satire defending the consumption of babies to feed the hungry is too farfetched for your realistic tastes as well.
Oh, plenty of people believed Swift was serious, so sure, it was good, brutal satire. Besides, singing stegosaurus is silly, when everyone already knows that hadrosaurs could play bugle tunes on their crests.
