McGregor Takes Mayweather to Round 10

Holy crap...I did not expect McGregor to last that long.

Why would anyone watch a potentially brain damaging "blood sport". I honestly don't get it. (I don't watch football or ice hockey either, FWIW).

Okay, each to their own.

For the record, I do recognize how weird it seems / is...but I don't think it's qualitatively different than sparring and rolling...and all sorts of people enjoy that. You get hurt sometimes...but you get hurt in all sorts of athletic activities.

But the intention of this particular sport (much like football and ice hockey) is to intentionally inflict pain/harm. In sparring and rolling you sometimes get hurt, but it's not the intention of those (and I've done sparring) to intentionally inflict harm.

Yeah, there's a difference, though in full-contact sparring you're trying to score real hits that take a toll, and when you roll, you often inflict discomfort/pain with arm locks, leg locks, etc, choke people out, and so on.

As with many other athletic endeavors, you are putting yourself and others in the direct way of discomfort... And I certainly don't approve when people have a bad attitude about it... But watch a good MMA match between people with the right attitudes. They respect each other, and don't aim to do lasting harm, nor any more than is required. Both participants judge it to be worth it, and engage in the activity freely.

Honestly, I think that people more like you and me are just kinda pansies about it, TBH.
