Did Trump Win Because College-Educated Americans Are Out Of Touch?

I am, of course, inclined to think that there's something to this.
Needless to say, it's not the whole story. Trump also won because American conservatism has gone insane, because many Americans aren't terribly bright, because many know absolutely nothing about either foreign or domestic policy, because Trump lied like a rug over and over and over, because he spoke at a fourth-grade level and apparently that's the right level at which to speak--and because the GOP spent 30 years manufacturing the myth of Evil Hillary. Also because he got crucial assists from Putin and Assange. (Who, by the way, must feel like bin Ladan on 9/12 today. They probably never dreamed they'd be able to strike such a crippling blow against the U.S.)
But I also think that he won because college-educated Americans are out of touch in the ways Camosy describes. And also because they are contemptuous of ordinary people. (Ordinary white people, anyway. Not ordinary non-white people. That would be racist...) And ordinary people seem to realize that. And a little contempt goes a long, long way...
