Slavoj Zizek is Full of Shit, Episode Whatever
A tumblr.
My God that guy is full of shit.
How intellectually credulous and dissolute do you have to be to take such a blatant charlatan seriously?

Wtf.
I don't know who that guy is, but do people actually take him seriously somewhere for some reason? When I first arrived at the page, I thought you must have posted a bad link...again. But now I think that's what you're talking about..
That page reeks of 30-year-old-living-with-his-parents. If I had the misfortune to stumble across that page independently of your blog, I would laugh, store some insignificant fraction of it in the portion of my memory dedicated to the crazies thriving in the dark depths of the Interwebs.
I'm not Googling him, 'cause if he's popular, I feel the news best comes from you.
I don't know anyone in philosophy who even knows of this guys existence. I know about him only from slumming around on the web. He's the kind of guy who'd be read mostly by people in lit-crit or somesuch. He may be read by some Continental philosophers...I don't know. But most Anglo-American philosophers have, no doubt, never read a word of him.
I imagine what it must be like to inhabit a mental world in which Mr. Z's bullshit is not transparently so. Scary...
I read "Welcome to the Desert of the Real" about ten years ago. All I really remember is a lot of references to Lacan. SOOOO much Lacan!
There are limits of intellect but no limits of idiocy. Slavoj Zizek is on of the finest philosophers of contemporary epoch. You should be ashamed of yourself not to know him. And I am not saying that agree with him but denying his scholarship only shows your own ignorance and not anything else.
Slavoj Zizek isn't one of the finest philosophers in his own apartment building, I'll wager. I'd hesitate to even call him a philosopher at all. He's a bullshitter, pure and simple.
There are lots of philosophers with whom I disagree, but such that I can still acknowledge their ability. SZ is not one of them.
